End of an Era: The Final Star Wars Movie

In 1977 I was 29 years old.  Can’t explain why, but when the first Star Wars movie came out I was hooked…immediately!!  I loved the action, the characters, the story line, everything about it.

I was one of those goofy people who were at the theater at 12:01 AM when The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were released in 1980 and 1983.  I remember dragging myself to work and barely able to keep my eyes open during the day.  But I would not miss an opening for anything in the world.

Then there was a substantial dry stretch…from 1983 to 1999.  A lot changed during that time.  By 1999 I was 51 years old and had been married for a while.  I guess you call it maturity….I’m not sure.  But for whatever reason I didn’t pay much attention to The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) or Revenge of the Sith (2005).  This weekend I caught up a bit by binging Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

Today I went and saw The Rise of Skywalker….I loved it!!!  I loved the story line, how they brought back many of the original characters, the filming….all of it.  I think they did an awesome job bringing that story line to a close.  And I will miss not having new Star War story lines coming out.

One complaint….why does the sound have to be so loud?   I bet even a totally deaf person could have heard every line of that movie!!!!

However, I think I may have missed some details.  Can anyone tell me…..

1.     How did Rhe turn out to be the granddaughter of the Emperor?  I need a genealogy chart on her cause I don’t get the connection.

2.     I know where Ben came from but how did he and Rhe become a diode?  Simply because they were both Skywalkers?

3.     When did Luke Skywalker die?  Did I miss another movie?  Last time I saw him alive Rhe was handing him a light saber on his island.

I should have taken notes during the movie cause I’m sure I had other questions, but now can’t remember them….aging sure is a bitch!!

Anyway, anyone who loved the Star Wars franchise…don’t miss this one!!!!
