Time To Catch Up!!
Been a little remiss at keeping up with the blog...so this weekend is the time to catch up! Since the Hallsted Reunion we've been keeping busy. There's always work to do around the house but need to work in some fun time too.
Golf has been my primary diversion for a long time now. I'm active in 2 leagues and hated to see them end with the season. So planned a golf outing with 12 women and we headed to Pine Valley Golf Resort just south of Louisville. The course was great fun and the accommodations were okay...the price was very friendly so that helped.
Just before the golf outing Jim and James came up for a week visit. Jim stayed in Cincinnati but James headed on up to Chicago for 2 days. Didn't do much, just caught up on some serious visiting. Of course we pulled out the decks of cards each night.
Josh, Becca, Alex, Eli, Kate and John are doing fine. Our surprise news from Kate and John is that they are pregnant!! Oh boy, I just love weddings and births. So our next one is in April. Sometime in December they will find out if we're waiting for a granddaughter or a grandson...either will be perfect as far as we're concerned.
Work continues to be a point of stress. At this time my position is slated to be eliminated around May 1. It helps to have a nice severance package and to be able to retire, but still, I'll be out with all the thousands, looking for work.
Pete and I tried our hand this year at selling our produce. Of course the first year we tried this turned out to be the worst year in a while for gardening...we just had such a cool/wet summer. Pete set out about 200 t0moatoe plants and most drowned. Weeds took over in full force. It was definitely our worst garden ever.
Well Fall is starting out to be a huge improvement over summer. The days are cool and the trees are turning. Perfect weather for more golf!!...what can I say????
Until next time,
Sue
